Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Stoke-on-Trent. The position combines responsibilities as a Teacher, Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), SENDCO, and Learning Support specialist. Day-to-day tasks include developing and delivering inclusive lesson plans tailored to various learning needs, fostering student engagement and progress, and ensuring the safety and welfare of all children. The role also involves creating and maintaining individual education plans, supporting staff development initiatives related to special education and inclusion, and collaborating with colleagues to provide a therapeutic, inclusive, and forward-thinking learning environment.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience in designing and delivering lessons that address diverse learning needs.
  • Proficiency in Special Education and Student Engagement, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Experience in Staff Development and supporting colleagues through training and resources related to inclusive practices and safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and welfare requirements with the ability to effectively act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
  • Relevant teaching qualifications, such as QTS, and additional certification in SEND or inclusion practices is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience using technology, such as Apple tools, to enrich teaching and learning experiences.
