Position: SEN Practitioner (Contract, Temporary)
Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Aspire People are seeking SEN Practitioners to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in mainstream primary schools across Stoke.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to provide tailored support to individuals and/or small groups of pupils with additional needs. You will be helping children with learning difficulties, including complex and multiple special educational needs, to thrive in an inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide 1:1 or small group support to children, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and developing key skills under the guidance of a qualified teacher.
- Utilise strategies to manage behaviour and encourage positive social and emotional development, ensuring students remain engaged and motivated.
- Support with the delivery of tailored learning activities to meet the specific needs of pupils with SEN, ensuring their development is supported across all areas of learning.
- Assist with the setup and management of activities, ensuring that resources are prepared and safe for use.
- Take responsibility as a key worker for specific students, monitoring their progress and acting as their main point of contact within the school.

What We're Looking For:

- Proven experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of various learning difficulties and special educational needs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues.
- A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to working with children with additional needs.
- A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3, Teaching Assistant qualification, or SEN-specific training) is highly desirable.
- The ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team environment.
