About the Role

Are you calm under pressure, reliable, and looking for flexible work that makes a real difference to learners in Stoke-on-Trent? We’re looking for organised and professional Exam Invigilators to join our Adult and Community Learning team within Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

As an Invigilator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring exams run smoothly, fairly, and in line with awarding body regulations. You’ll help set up exam rooms, supervise learners, distribute and collect papers securely, and maintain a calm and supportive environment where every learner has the best chance to succeed. This is a flexible, casual role, with opportunities to work across multiple exam centres within the city.

It’s ideal for anyone seeking rewarding, part-time work that supports the success of our learners and contributes to the integrity of our qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure exams run smoothly, fairly, and in line with awarding body regulations.
  • Help set up exam rooms.
  • Supervise learners.
  • Distribute and collect papers securely.
  • Maintain a calm and supportive environment where every learner has the best chance to succeed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • No previous experience is necessary — full training will be provided.
  • Must be punctual, approachable, and able to follow procedures precisely.
