Early Years Practitioner/Educator
The Executive Headteacher and leadership team at Greenways Primary Academy are seeking to appoint an effective and experienced Early Years Practitioner/Educator to work in our Nursery setting from 1st September 2026 for 33 hours a week on a temporary basis for 12 months until 31st August 2027 to cover a maternity leave.
The workshift pattern will be 8.30am-3.25pm (Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri) and 8.30am-4.25pm (Weds).
The successful candidate must have an accredited Level 3 Early Years Qualification or above and have at least a Grade C in GCSE maths and English.
In EYFS we pride ourselves on our nurturing approach and positive pupil and parental relationships which we believe are fundamental to ensuring all children are happy and feel safe to learn. We are looking for someone who is hard‑working, proactive and committed to ensuring all children have a positive early years experience which sets them up for the future. The role will involve contributing to the planning and preparation of the classroom daily and actively seek ways to enhance provision and support children’s needs.
We are looking to appoint someone who:
- Has a record of delivering high quality provision in an Early Year setting
- Is knowledgeable about the Early Years Framework and can adapt provision in line with pupil interests and needs
- Is competent and confident to set up and lead provision for Nursery
- Has a positive approach to behaviour management and promotes a ‘can do’ attitude
- Has high expectations of themselves and others
- Can work as part of a team and is an effective communicator with both pupils and adults
- Is organised, can use ICT and initiative as needed
- Wishes to continue to develop as a professional
- A warm, welcoming environment where all staff support each other
- A strong EYFS team who know the school and pupils well
- A successful transition so that you can carry out the role successfully
- CPL in line with need and aspirations
- Wonderful pupils who are a pleasure to work with everyday and supportive parents
