Overview

Sleep & Ventilation Advanced Training Fellow

Fixed Term 12 Months. An exciting opportunity to join the Respiratory team at the University Hospital of North Midlands, working at Royal Stoke and County sites. The post offers specialist experience in respiratory support for chronic ventilatory failure and in the management of respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders. The post is suitable for individuals aiming at a career in these disciplines.

Applications will be welcomed from those seeking post CCT experience or on a respiratory training programme looking for out of programme experience.

The appointee will be encouraged to participate in the department s research activity, and suitable new projects will be fully supported. The consultant staff will plan a training programme with the successful applicant to best suit the individual’s objectives. The post can have educational or training approval, if discussed with the Training Programme Director (TPD) prior to starting in the thoracic unit.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist experience in the provision of respiratory support for chronic ventilatory failure.
  • Contribute to the management of respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders.
  • Participate in departmental research activity; support suitable new projects.
  • Assist in planning a personalised training programme with the Training Programme Director (TPD).
  • Assist with educational or training approvals as discussed with the TPD prior to starting in the thoracic unit.
About the Department and Sites

University Hospitals of North Midlands has two sites:
Royal Stoke University Hospital, located in Stoke-on-Trent, and County Hospital, located in Stafford. From these hospitals we provide a full range of general acute hospital services for people living in and around Staffordshire and beyond.
