Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a first rate consultant, with specialist interest in complex devices and inherited cardiac conditions to join our growing team. The successful candidate will join a team of 26 consultant cardiologists, 8 of whom are specialists in devices and EP, with 3 consultants supporting the ICC service. The role includes 2 dedicated cath lab sessions for device implantation.
Outpatient clinics with elements of general cardiology in addition to specialty clinics. The successful candidate will join the on call rota for cardiology, currently 1:11. With this, is the responsibility for ongoing care of patients post take. Dedicated ward round time will be given. There will be opportunities to engage in formal teaching for the resident doctor team and educational and clinical supervision.
UHNM
UHNM is a high volume device centre, implanting more than 1500 pacemakers and devices in 24/25, including leadless and conduction system pacing devices for our secondary and tertiary population of patients. The established ICC service provides specialist clinics for patients with HCM, DCM, muscular dystrophies, aortopathies, including patients with Marfan's syndrome, Ehlers Danlos and Loewys Dietz. The unit looks after a full range of channelopathies and has excellent links to the inherited conditions teams in Birmingham and Manchester.
