Position Summary

The Grants Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the grant development process for Community Medical Centers (CMC), including—but not limited to—research, development, writing, submission, community partner and funder relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Correlate funding priorities as determined by the CEO and Board of Directors with trends in funding from government and private sources.
  • Research potential funding agencies and identify opportunities to support programs, organizational development, capital, and other CMC projects. Provide background to leadership team and Board of Directors for opportunities that require social engagement or networking activities.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with funding agencies and community partners.
  • After obtaining approval from the CEO, research, write, compile, and submit competitive funding proposals and grant applications. Coordinate and communicate with funding agency, program staff, Accounting, and community partners.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Grants Coordinator in the development of needed financial and budgetary information for grant submissions.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Grants Coordinator in the development and implementation of processes for grant tracking and monitoring of grant deliverables.
  • Communicate regularly with CMC staff to build knowledge and awareness of grant-related practices and opportunities.
  • Research best and emerging health care practices and priorities, as well as best and emerging grant development and management practices.
  • Maintain grant-related reference resources including funder research files, grant Final date to receive applicationss, grant reporting schedules, and other information as needed. Ensure that data on current grants is easily accessible organization-wide.
  • Maintain comprehensive files for grants that include applications, award letters, reports and other basic correspondence with funding agency.
  • Travel to clinic sites when needed to conduct meetings and research.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, or related area with a minimum of two years professional writing experience.
  • Must be capable of working with demographic data, health statistics, and economic forecasts.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with others in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in online research, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow Federal grant instructions and guidelines.
