• Provide professional supervision and mentoring to social workers and support staff within the Families First Team.
• Manage complex and high‑risk cases, offering guidance and decision‑making support to colleagues.
• Undertake assessments, planning, interventions, and reviews for children, young people, and families, ensuring compliance with statutory duties.
• Ensure that the voice of the child is central to all interventions and service delivery.
• Promote and maintain effective multi‑agency partnerships to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
• Support the Team Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the team, including performance monitoring and quality assurance.
• Act as a role model for high‑quality, strengths‑based social work practice.
• Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives.

• Qualified Social Worker with a current Social Work England registration and substantial post‑qualifying experience in children’s social care, specifically in child protection and family support. Proven supervisory and mentoring experience, along with strong knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Children Act 1989 and 2004, is essential. Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills are paramount.
