Rental Account Manager – Primary rental sales/marketing role at Ryder’s BU level
, outside B2B sales
. Supports commercial rental and trailer services product lines, drives new account generation, retains existing accounts and improves rental revenue growth
, profitability and Return on Assets. Requires heavy ground travel, uncapped commission structure and a dynamic territory based on Stockton, CA
.
- Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation and customer visits; assess customer needs and present proposals.
- Coordinate with rental operations to ensure equipment availability; maintain accurate customer data in the DPS system.
- Market at branch level, train regional sales representatives in telemarketing and customer relationship skills.
- Retain customers in a price competitive market; schedule long‑term rental visits and maintain quality service.
- Administer proposals, contracts, follow‑up correspondence and collection of receivables; comply with company procedures and data integrity.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities- Strong verbal and written communication; builds customer relationships.
- Independent work with minimal supervision; high energy, self‑directed, team oriented.
- Multi‑tasking, highly organized, excellent time management, detail oriented and dependable.
- Committed to ethical business practices and high professionalism.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or 5+ years equivalent experience.
- 1+ year sales experience or equivalent sales training required; 3+ years preferred.
- 1+ year Industry experience preferred.
Minimum Pay Range: $50,000 – Maximum Pay Range: $55,000 plus annual bonus, commission and long‑term incentive plan based on level and type.
