Job Description & How to Apply Below
This recruitment has been opened to fill part-time temporary Student Nursing Assistant vacancies in various departments at San Joaquin General Hospital. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of an application. A completed application must be postmarked or received online by the final filing deadline.
The Student Nursing Assistant Program at San Joaquin General Hospital was developed to allow students who are currently enrolled in a collegiate-level registered nurse education program the opportunity to obtain paid work experience in an acute care hospital setting during academic and clinical training. This program consists of four levels in the classification series of Student Nursing Assistant. The Student Nursing Assistant IV position is the final level.
This program allows accepted students to enter part-time employment during the 1st semester of the approved registered nurse education program (Student Nursing Assistant I) and continue employment through the last academic semester (Student Nursing Assistant IV). As students progress through each level, continued employment is based upon successful academic achievement and satisfactory workplace performance. Once a student obtains a Registered Nurse license or an Interim Permit, there may be opportunities for future employment as a licensed Registered Nurse at San Joaquin General Hospital.
Pre-Employment Physical, Drug Screen and Background:
Potential new hires into this classification are required to successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination, a pre-employment drug screen and a background investigation as a condition of employment. Final appointment cannot be made unless the eligible candidate has passed the drug screen, physical and successfully completed the background process. The County pays for the initial drug screen and physical.
