As a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS), you’ll help transform workplace safety culture at one of the world’s most innovative companies, protecting employees and helping them return home safely each day. You’ll combine technology with human-centered solutions to promote safety and productivity, and influence how safety is implemented across operations.

As the building’s designated safety champion, you’ll build relationships, influence positive change, and contribute to Amazon’s commitment to safety excellence.

• Safety Program Excellence & Implementation — Drive comprehensive safety programs using data-driven strategies. Lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments. Develop and deliver engaging safety training and champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Associate Advocacy & Cultural Leadership — Serve as a trusted safety advisor and advocate for associate wellbeing. Foster a culture where safety is everyone’s priority through effective communication, coaching, and positive reinforcement. Build strong relationships with frontline associates and leadership to drive behavioral changes and ensure safety best practices become natural habits. Translate safety data into compelling narratives to influence positive change and drive engagement.

• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
• Work in environments with variable noise levels and temperatures (including outside loading areas)
• Continuously climb and descend stairs (where applicable)
• Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site

• High school diploma or equivalent; or Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field preferred
• Experience in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field OR safety-related role within Amazon (minimum 1 year, or 6 months with relevant degree)
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910)
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personal issues in the workplace
• Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills
• Experience leading and managing a team; ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for safety concerns; conduct job hazard and job safety analyses
• Experience in emergency response and current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Experience in workers’ compensation case management

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
