Assistant NURSE Manager; Cath Lab

• Full Time • $64.00 - $75.47 Hourly – Day shift

• Supervision of personnel and coordination of the operational activities of a specific nursing unit, basing decision‑making on patient acuity, staff skills mix, and unit census for a 12‑hour work shift.
• Direct clinical nursing care for patients on the assigned nursing unit, demonstrating effective leadership skills and participating with the nursing care team to deliver quality care in a safe environment.
• Respond to nursing personnel requests for patient‑care assistance and intervene as expert clinician when necessary to ensure quality patient outcomes and experience.
• Conduct board rounds on each patient to ensure patient and family needs are met.
• Manage performance of unit personnel.
• Under the direction of the Department Director and Hospital Supervisor, provide administrative and clinical support in the provision of quality patient care on the unit and share in the financial management of the unit.
• Maintain clinical competencies in unit, providing direct patient care when necessary. Perform jobs in all patient‑care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures, and participate in the Respiratory Protection Program (may include wearing a respirator). This is a non‑union position.

• License as a registered nurse required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or allied health field preferred. If not possessed, must initiate a course of study toward a degree within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire or transfer.
• All current staff must enroll in a Bachelor's degree program within 1 year and obtain it within 5 years of signing this job description.

• One year in a charge/relief charge position preferred.
• Minimum of two years relevant clinical experience in an acute care facility.

• Current California Registered Nurse License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through AHA required
• Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification required

• Emergency, Pre‑Op, OR/PACU, and Endoscopy Department – Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate through AHA required.

• Basic knowledge of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Typing and computer keyboard proficiency.
• Email usage proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, time‑management, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Strong customer service orientation.
