Position Overview:

We are hiring a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to lead a Special Day Class (SDC) for students with Moderate to Severe Support Needs (Mod/Severe) in Stockton, CA. In this role, you’ll provide highly individualized academic and life skills instruction, manage behavior intervention plans, and support the overall development of students in a structured, inclusive setting.

• Develop and implement comprehensive Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Provide standards-based and functional academic instruction in a self‑contained classroom
• Implement evidence‑based teaching strategies, including AAC, visual supports, and structured routines
• Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, paraprofessionals, and families
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and adapt instruction accordingly
• Lead compliant IEP meetings and maintain required documentation
• Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that fosters independence
• Engage and communicate regularly with families and caregivers to strengthen home–school relationships

• Valid California Education Specialist Credential – Moderate/Severe
• CLAD or English Learner Authorization
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field

• Master’s degree in Special Education
• Experience in a Mod/Severe SDC setting
• Familiarity with behavior support plans, assistive technology, and life skills curriculum
