Benerd College at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a part‑time, non‑tenure track position as a Course Developer/Instructor.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction that adheres to course hour requirements (depending on the course/contract).
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource to students within the given course assignment.
- Ensure syllabus, course materials, evaluations and assessments are consistent with university policy and best practices.
- Design and conduct educational programs and courses of instruction in accordance with university policies.
- Actively participate in planning, review, and improvement of educational programs and courses, assess effectiveness, and provide recommendations to the dean and provost.
- Recommend educational policies and degree requirements that carry out the university mission.
- Advise students on academic progress and recommend candidates for earned degrees.
- Participate in the selection, evaluation, and advancement of faculty and academic administrators.
- Contribute to the advancement of knowledge through inquiry, creative activity, and research as appropriate.
- Participate in service as requested or required.
- Master’s degree or earned doctorate with relevant background to course(s) being taught.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a professional environment or higher education.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- FERPA training.
- Annual sexual harassment prevention training.
- Criminal background check.
- Experience with online teaching.
- Earned doctorate or terminal degree in the field of specialization.
- Published research in field of specialization.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices.
Work may require extended periods of sitting and standing, bending and stooping, occasional walking. Work is primarily performed in a standard office, classroom, or online environment.
Hiring Range$16.50 to $125.00 per hour.
