Bus Rider (Substitute), Special Education – Stockton, CA. The San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) provides educational leadership, resources, and customized services to assist school districts. SJCOE employs over 2,100 classified and certificated employees. SJCOE promotes student achievement and accountability, serves San Joaquin County’s most at-risk students, and strives to create an environment in which every student, regardless of circumstances, has an opportunity for a quality education.

A Special Education Bus Rider ensures the safe transportation of special education students. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting students on and off the bus, maintaining order, addressing behavioral issues, and communicating with school staff and parents. Bus riders attend training sessions, follow safety protocols, and provide support to students with special needs during the commute. The role demands patience, empathy, and the ability to handle diverse needs.

Rate: $21.28 Per Hour

Length of Work Year: 10 months per year, full or part-time on-call assignments
