Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Stockton, California. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and delivering timely reports. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze month-end reports, including fixed assets, leases, prepaids, and cash reconciliations.

- Create and maintain accurate journal entries to support financial records.

- Manage accounts payable processes efficiently and ensure timely payments.

- Utilize accounting software, including Quick Books Online, to maintain financial data.

- Perform advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and SUMIF formulas.

- Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations and assist in preparing tax returns.

- Handle sales tax calculations and reporting to meet regulatory requirements.

- Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial transactions. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a similar role.

- Proficiency in Quick Books Online and other accounting software.

- Strong knowledge of advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and SUMIF.

- Demonstrated experience with corporate tax preparation and sales tax compliance.

- Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and journal entry creation.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively.
