Plant Mechanic / Plant Fitter / Workshop Plant Engineer

Heavy Plant Technician - Manchester (Workshop Based)

£33,000 - £35,000 basic + paid overtime (time & a half)

Mon-Fri | 7:30am - 5:00pm | Pension from Day 1

We're recruiting on behalf of a long-established, privately owned plant hire business with multiple depots across the North of England.

If you're a Plant Mechanic, Plant Fitter, Workshop Engineer, or Heavy Plant Technician, this is a secure, workshop-based role with strong earning potential and long-term stability.

• Basic salary: £33,000 - £35,000
• Overtime paid at time & a half
• Monday-Friday only
• 7:30am - 5:00pm
• 30-minute break
• Pension enrolled from Day 1
• No weekends / no call-outs
• Ongoing training & manufacturer courses
• Modern, fully equipped workshop

• Workshop-based maintenance and repair of:
• Excavators & attachments
• Dumpers & rollers
• Telehandlers
• Compaction equipment
• Compressors
• Tools & site equipment

• Inspecting plant for faults
• Servicing & maintenance
• Fault finding & diagnostics
• Strip, repair & rebuild components
• Testing for safe operation
• Pre-delivery inspections
• Updating service records
  
  Basic welding
• LOLER lifting equipment use
• Keeping the workshop clean & safe

Suitable backgrounds include:

• Plant Mechanic
• Plant Fitter
• Workshop Plant Engineer
• Heavy Plant Technician
• Construction Plant Engineer
• Mechanical Fitter
• Agricultural Engineer
• Land-Based Engineer

You'll have:

• Plant / machinery repair experience
• Strong fault-finding skills
• Hydraulics experience
• Basic electrical knowledge

Desirable (not essential):

• NVQ Level 3 (Plant / Engineering)
• Manufacturer training
• FLT licence
• M&E experience
• Full UK driving licence
