A well-established law firm based in Wilmslow is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join its finance team. This is a key role within the firm, offering stability, responsibility and the opportunity to work closely with both fee earners and senior management.

The role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of client and office accounts, ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Managing client and office accounts in line with the Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Processing client receipts and payments, including CHAPS and bank transfers
• Handling bill postings, disbursements and purchase ledger
• Carrying out daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Dealing with completion statements and liaising with fee earners on financial queries
• Supporting audits and providing financial reports where required
• Ensuring accurate record keeping and maintaining compliance at all times

About you

• Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm is essential
• Strong knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Confident using legal accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Well organised, reliable and able to manage workloads independently
• Professional and discreet with sensitive financial information
