Legal Cashier

An established law firm in Stockport is looking for an experienced Legal Cashier to join their Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least two years’ experience in a law firm environment who is ready to progress their career.

In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

Managing client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments, transfers, and write-offs

Monitoring client account balances and handling petty cash, credit card transactions, expense claims, purchase invoices, and supplier payments

Preparing and maintaining management reports, including fee earner and departmental performance, and supporting the Head of Finance/COFA with management accounts

Assisting with internal and external audits and ensuring adherence to Solicitors Accounts Rules

Maintaining accurate financial records in the practice management system and supporting process improvements

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience as a Legal Cashier in a law firm

Strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and management reporting

Experience with legal accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
