Us Be You
- Deliver CBT evidence‑based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health and behavioural problems in a range of education settings.
- Help children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services.
- Support the staff in your allocated education settings to identify, and where appropriate, manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing; and support them to develop whole school approaches to positive mental health.
- Work within educational environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services; identify and work with low level risk and recognise higher level risk, escalating appropriately.
- Deliver evidence‑based interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
- Develop skills in supporting children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, their parents/carers, families and educators in the self‑management of presenting difficulties.
- Develop and practice evidence‑based skills and work in partnership with children, young people, their families and educators in the development of treatment plans for the specific intervention and agreeing outcomes.
- Work in collaboration with children, young people and where appropriate parents/carers to formulate and develop agreed treatment plan.
- Provide individual and group interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
- Be an active participant in case discussions, multi‑agency meetings, and regular supervision to ensure high standards of care.

Applicants must have successfully completed the 1year Post Graduate Certificate 'Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)' course in order to be considered for shortlisting. We welcome applications from qualified EMHPs and Trainee EMHPs who are due to finish or have recently finished their training.
You must have registration as an EMHP in order to commence in post. This will be verified at interview and during pre‑employment checks. It is a mandatory requirement as you are working within an NHS commissioned service.
We are unable to accept applications from children and young people wellbeing practitioners (CWP). The only exception to this is if you are currently working in an MHST service, and your started in this service prior to 1st October 2024. You are only able to gain professional registration for roles that they are qualified to deliver.
