Technical Accountant

Forge Talent are looking for a Technical Accountant on an interim basis for up to 6 months with potential to extend. The Technical Accountant role will be looking to start asap and will be based in South Manchester.

The role will work closely with the leadership team in producing the full financial reporting pack.

• Provide proactive support to the leadership team in managing group-wide financial reporting
• Oversee month-end close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of results
• Post selected transactions where required and review financial data prepared by the wider team
• Prepare the consolidation and management information pack for shareholders, including results, KPIs, and variance analysis
• Collaborate with finance and non-finance colleagues to drive efficiency and accuracy
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management processes
• Lead year-end consolidation and statutory accounts preparation across multiple entities
• Liaise with external auditors, addressing complex accounting matters and managing information flow
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, maintaining strong controls and reconciliations
• Drive improvements in systems and reporting tools, supporting a culture of continuous improvement
• Working with auditors

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Extensive experience across group consolidation, management reporting and financial control
• Strong technical expertise, including preparation of statutory accounts and managing audit processes
• Commercially minded with excellent analytical skills and the ability to influence both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Proactive and hands-on, with a strong focus on accuracy and continuous improvement
• Highly proficient with financial systems, including advanced Excel, ERP platforms and reporting tools
• M&A experience

The role is looking to start asap and is paying up to £475 per day for the right candidate
