Personal Tax Senior

Clark Wood is currently working with a highly regarded independent firm of chartered accountants based in Stockport, who are seeking a confident and experienced Personal Tax Senior to join their thriving tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a personal tax specialist looking to take on more responsibility within a well-established and supportive firm that values professional development and client service.

Role Overview:

As a Personal Tax Senior, you will manage a varied portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, sole traders, landlords, and company directors. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality compliance work while also getting involved in advisory and planning projects as your experience allows.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and review of self-assessment tax returns for a range of personal tax clients

Handling queries relating to capital gains tax, inheritance tax, residency, and other personal tax matters

Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and supporting their development

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, offering excellent service and advice

Assisting senior managers and partners with tax planning and advisory projects

Ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with internal deadlines and HMRC requirements

Candidate Profile:

ATT Qualified or qualified by experience; CTA qualification would be a bonus but is not essential

Strong background in personal tax compliance, ideally within a UK practice environment

Excellent communication and client-facing skills

Confident in managing your own portfolio and reviewing others’ work

A proactive and detail-oriented approach
