ARMSTRONG SERVICE

Our service Engineers and Technicians work with major industrial groups (petrochemical, chemical, food, pharmaceutical) to provide various services:

  • Steam Trap surveys and Thermal Assessments.
  • Identifying and implementing energy and CO2 savings solutions.
  • Enhancing the reliability of thermal distribution networks and systems.
  • Engineering studies from feasibility to detailed design.
CORE OBJECTIVES

In this role, you will identify and develop tailored technical solutions to help industrial clients reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and lower their CO₂ emissions, with a particular focus on heat recovery projects.

You’ll apply pinch analysis methodologies and design systems that incorporate high-temperature industrial heat pumps. Your work will often begin with detailed audits or thermal mapping campaigns, where you'll be responsible for collecting and analysing client data, modelling both process and utility thermal needs, and estimating associated operational costs.

Each proposed solution will include a thorough evaluation of potential energy and CO₂ savings, along with investment assessments and return-on-investment calculations. For industries where reliability and safety are paramount, you will also conduct specialised studies to identify root causes of failure and recommend corrective and optimisation strategies.

Once a project’s feasibility is confirmed, in cooperation with our Project Managers, you will work together on detailed solution design and oversee the full implementation process—from selecting subcontractors to managing installation works and final commissioning on site.

You’ll be part of a collaborative European team of engineers working across multiple offices. The role involves frequent on-site visits, primarily in UK but with potential for work also across Europe, for data gathering and fieldwork. These site-based activities are balanced by periods of remote analysis and reporting, with flexible working arrangements supported.
