Overview
Reception / FS2 Primary Teacher – Stockport, SK7. This is a full-time, temporary position with a daily rate of £[phone number removed]. An experienced FS2/Reception teacher is needed to join a partner school on a long-term basis. The successful candidate will be well-versed in early years education and ready to hit the ground running, contributing to an inclusive and educational classroom in a positive team environment.
As a Reception Primary Teacher, you will guide children into their first experience of school with a kind, comforting demeanour and strong early years pedagogy.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in line with the EYFS framework.
- Create a stimulating, safe, and nurturing learning environment that promotes curiosity and independence.
- Use play-based and pupil-led approaches to support early learning and development.
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress using EYFS assessment methods; maintain accurate records, assessments, and reports.
- Identify and address individual learning needs, including SEND, EAL, and additional support requirements.
- Promote children’s personal, social, and emotional development (PSED).
- Establish and maintain positive behaviour management strategies appropriate to early years.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, EYFS colleagues, and wider school staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on progress and development.
- Contribute to planning meetings, observations, and moderation activities.
- Support transition into and out of Reception, including links with Nurseries and Year 1 staff.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, particularly FS2 (Reception).
- Caring, patient, and child-centred approach.
- Confidence in supporting early literacy and numeracy development.
- Ability to assess, observe, and track pupil progress in line with EYFS statutory requirements.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
