Responsibilities
- Ensure an outstanding Catholic educational experience, engaging and fulfilling for all pupils
- Deliver a balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students within Mathematics
- Be accountable for student progress and development within the teaching groups allocated
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum requirements
- Inspire and engage pupils in the vision for the school
- Ensure effective strategies enable all pupils to make good progress
- Track student achievement regularly, transforming data into action
- Set high expectations for quality teaching and learning in your Mathematics classes
- Ensure planning meets the needs of all learners
- Deliver engaging lessons with frequent assessment, feedback and intervention
- Assist in developing schemes of work, resources, marking and assessment policies within designated curriculum areas
- Keep up to date with national developments in the subject area and how they might affect student learning and teaching methodologies
- Display highly effective subject knowledge
- Help foster the spiritual development of pupils in accordance with the school's Mission Statement
- Promote the school's ethos and culture to the broader community
- Actively participate in the school's development scheme through professional training and development
- Treat pupils, staff and parents fairly, equitably and with dignity and respect, to create a positive school culture
- Celebrate the achievements of individual students
- Work effectively with Technicians and Teaching Assistants as appropriate
- Manage own workload and that of others to maintain a healthy work/life balance
- Regularly review own practice, set personal targets and take responsibility for personal development
- In 2025, 73% of students achieved at least a grade 4 in English & Maths while 46% achieved a grade 5 in these subjects
- 82 grade 9s and 115 grade 8s in 2025 demonstrate exceptional attainment across a wide range of subjects
- Exceptional results in open, Maths and English subjects place us in the top 20% of similar schools nationally
