Primary SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant (KS2 - Moderate Complex Needs)
Location: Stockport
Start Date: 23/02/2026 (after February half term)
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Temp to Perm opportunities available)
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a supportive primary special school to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with moderate complex needs
.
The pupil requires consistent, patient and nurturing support to access learning, regulate emotions and develop independence within the classroom environment. Needs may include a combination of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), social communication difficulties, emotional regulation needs and mild learning delays
. The child benefits from clear routines, structured support and strong adult relationships.
This role is ideal for someone who is calm, reliable and passionate about supporting children with additional needs on an individual basis.
The Role Will Involve:- Providing 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil throughout the school day
- Supporting access to the curriculum through adapted tasks and differentiated activities
- Assisting with emotional regulation and managing anxiety or frustration
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement using consistent strategies
- Supporting communication and social interaction with peers
- Following EHCP targets, learning plans and behaviour strategies
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff
- Supporting the pupil during transitions, break times and unstructured periods
- Helping to promote independence, confidence and self-esteem
- Has experience working with children with SEND or additional needs (school-based or transferable experience welcomed)
- Is patient, calm and resilient
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Is confident supporting behaviour in a positive and consistent way
- Can build trusting, supportive relationships with pupils
- Is proactive, reliable and committed to safeguarding
Experience with ASC, SEMH, speech and language needs or KS2 pupils is desirable but not essential - training and support will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
