A Special Needs school based in Stockport is looking for a resilient one to one Teaching Assistant to support a child with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties in KS2. The school requires you to be experienced working with young people with moderate learning difficulties such as autism. The role would be a mix of a classroom environment and a variety of different facilities provided by school to best support regulation and interventions in line with individual learning plans.
The right candidate will have the opportunity to go from a temp to permanent contract.
- Assist with both learning activities and continuous provision
- Forster a nurturing, inclusive and motivating environment
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other staff to implement appropriate teaching strategies
- Promote an environment where pupils feel valued, respected and motivated
- Possible personal care and mobility support
- Implement behaviour strategies and techniques in line with the school’s policies
- Have experience working with young people with complex needs
- Have experience working with young people with challenging behaviour
- Be compassionate, flexible and patient
- Ideally some experience working in an educational environment
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
