Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry night shift position, requiring prior travel nursing experience and active GA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based Telemetry unit with 32 beds
- Patient population includes adults to geriatrics with cardiac, renal, pulmonary, vascular, DKA, and occasional post-surgical cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6
- Care involves arrhythmia management, cardioversion, cardiac drips, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-PCI care
- Epic EMR experience preferred; uses Pyxis and SBAR communication tools
- Night shifts are 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating may be required within facility and scope of practice
- On-call is rare with a 2-hour response time
- Must wear navy blue scrubs
- Expected to work major holidays as assigned according to assignment period length
- Compliance must be completed on time to start as scheduled; delay may result in postponed orientation
- Return travelers must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- If ineligible at any Piedmont facility, traveler must complete a successful assignment elsewhere before returning
- Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit
- No blocked scheduling permitted
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry RN experience
- Prior travel nursing experience is required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with basic arrhythmias, cardiac drip management, and hemodynamic monitoring needed
- Competence in post-cardiac cath, TR Bands, and med/surg patient care required
- Ability to manage Epic EMR preferred
- Candidates must provide two supervisory references from managers or higher
- Cannot request RTO during first week of assignment; maximum 7 days of RTO allowed
