Job Details:

• Work in telemetry unit with patient ratio of 1:5-6 on days and nights, 1:6 on weekends

• 32-bed unit serving adult to geriatric patient population

• Every other weekend schedule unless specified elsewhere

• Floating required within facility/scope of practice as needed

• Rare call requirements with 2-hour response time

• Holiday work required based on number of major holidays during assignment period

• Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed

• 36 hours of orientation required

• Navy blue scrubs required

• Must have minimum 1 year experience with travel experience required

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred

• Care for overflow IMCU patients with arrhythmia management, cardioversion procedures

• Manage patients with cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal, pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema)

• Handle PE, DVT, cardiac arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia)

• Provide surgical care (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains)

• Manage post cardiac catheterization patients and TR bands

• Care for DKA patients and occasional orthopedic or CVA overflow patients

• Experience required with cardiac drips and hemodynamic monitoring

• Must have knowledge of cardiac medications: amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, heparin

• Proficient in Epic charting system (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR communication

The organization maintains high clinical standards with interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
