This full‑time position is located 100% onsite at a hospital in Stockbridge, GA, with a Monday—Friday schedule from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
.

Pay Range

Base pay: $18.00 /hr – $23.00 /hr. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience; talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to connect uninsured hospital patients to programs that will cover their medical expenses. As a Patient Advocate, you will evaluate eligibility for federal, state, county programs and assist patients face‑to‑face through the application process. The goal is to screen 98 % of patients at bedside.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside to determine viability for assistance programs.
  • Complete applications and manage approval process.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Elevate PFS and hospital systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, financial counselors.
  • Answer incoming calls, make outbound calls, and track paperwork for enrollment and renewal.
  • Maintain structured and timely contact with applicants and government agencies.
  • Assist applicants with gathering reports, arranging appointments, and transportation as needed.
  • Conduct in‑person community visits as needed to acquire documentation.
  • Inform clients of approvals and denials in a timely manner.
  • Attend required training to stay informed about rules and regulations.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Some college coursework preferred.
  • Prior hospital experience preferred.
  • Adaptability to changing processes, systems, and programs.
  • Professional experience with state and federal programs.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the hospital during shift.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective oral and written communication with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to multitask and meet performance metrics in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Dress in accordance with client’s dress code.
