Position: Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse - $1,708 per week

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required (first-time travelers accepted)

• Patient population includes adults to geriatrics

• Patient ratio of 1:6 across all shifts

• Required certifications: BLS, NIH (ACLS and CPI preferred)

• Scrub color:
Navy Blue

• Every other weekend schedule required

• Floating within facility may be required

• No call requirements

• Maximum 7 days requested time off

• Holiday work requirements based on number of holidays during assignment

• Work with patient diagnoses including appendicitis, cholecystitis, small bowel obstruction, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, sepsis, hypertension, and hypo/hyperglycemia

• Handle post-operative care for prostatectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, ostomy creation/reversal, exploratory laparoscopy, and bowel resections

• Experience with equipment including NGT, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and wound vacs

• Use Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems

•

Skills required:

chest tube management, colostomy care, feeding tube care, isolation precautions, peripheral line care, and wound care/wound vac management

• Georgia or compact nursing license required

• Full compliance required to start on time

• 12 hours of non-billable orientation

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 34-bed medical surgical unit with an average daily census of 27 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and offers a collaborative environment with modern technology and equipment to support diverse medical surgical patient needs.
