In this role, you will oversee the company’s infrastructure, technical operations, architecture, engineering and IT support—directly or indirectly—with a primary focus on one U.S. location. You will also serve as SME or backup for other locations as needed and work in tandem with international IT teams.
Using analytical abilities and problem‑solving skills, you will link and apply complex technologies to business strategies and translate technical language to audiences at all levels. You will apply knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, outsourced systems, computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities to create and apply technology solutions to business challenges.
The IT Infrastructure Engineer will complete tasks in a time‑sensitive environment, prioritize work, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set personal goals and enforce personal deadlines while maintaining flexibility to reassess and prioritize goals. This role will also implement and support information‑technology integrations and initiatives set by the company that may require a flexible schedule, longer hours, and possible domestic and/or international travel.
YourTasks
- Facilitate communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization.
- Represent the U.S. IT department as needed for site‑specific requests.
- Support and manage expansions of existing buildings or new buildings in geographic locations.
- Provide feedback on systems that support end‑users in the productive use of computer hardware and software.
- Participate in system security and backup procedures in coordination with global IT and Risk teams.
- Provide hands‑on assistance across several technical disciplines.
- Manage local and remote infrastructure operations consistently with company policies and practices.
- Ensure availability and responsiveness of enterprise technology to meet compliance requirements and organizational goals.
- Coordinate with the vendor responsible for global desk, incident, and problem management processes, focusing on U.S. topics, and provide onsite resources to address gaps or performance issues.
- Support the purchasing department in validating components necessary for the operation of SCS U.S. sites and services.
- Resolve hardware, software, and database issues efficiently, including overseeing disaster recovery operations and involved personnel.
- Ensure the security of information systems, domains, and equipment.
- Support the Cloud + Infrastructure + Modern Workplace pillar of IT as necessary for overall team success.
- Apply understanding of information security as it applies to current technology issues, laws, and regulations.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned to maintain an efficient, safe, clean, and goal‑oriented work environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum two years of mid‑level information technology experience.
- Experience in data security, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with cloud‑based solutions.
- Experience with shared and outsourced solutions.
- Experience supporting in‑house information and communication systems in a multi‑site client‑server environment.
- Experience with IT systems and infrastructure within a multi‑location environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to lead, motivate, and train other personnel.
- Salary range for Ontario, CA: $80,000–$85,000 per year.
