Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review, approve, and seal mechanical engineering designs for projects of varying size and complexity
• Lead mechanical design strategies and technical concepts on complex projects
• Conduct audits, feasibility studies, and technical investigations, and prepare comprehensive reports
• Perform site visits and provide construction-phase support, including troubleshooting and collaborating on effective solutions
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to intermediate and junior engineers and designers
• Contribute to the ongoing development, refinement, and implementation of mechanical design standards and best practices

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Building Services mechanical design, including at least 5 years of experience in Ontario
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
• Proven experience designing central plant systems, including hot water, steam, and chilled water systems
• Strong expertise in DDC control systems, including development of sequences of operations, technical specifications, and on-site troubleshooting
• Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and ASPE
• Experience delivering projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, educational, multi-unit residential, healthcare, and government facilities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under tight deadlines
• Collaborative team player with a demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making
• Minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience in Canada
