What You’ll Be Doing

As an Assistant Manager you’re the face of Stephens – serving up smiles alongside our delicious baked goods on every shift. You’ll help bring our values to life by delivering excellent service, supporting your teammates, and approaching every day with positivity and energy.

Your Role Will Include
  • Lead the shop team during your shifts setting the pace, making decisions, and keeping everyone focused.
  • Be involved in rota planning and solve short‑term cover issues when in shop.
  • Help support with team performance issues.
  • Be a visible and approachable leader, actively supporting your team through busy periods and challenges.
  • Role‑model high standards of customer service, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Support with team development, helping to train new starters and give guidance to others.
  • Actively serve customers alongside the team and model excellent customer service.
  • Make sure the shop is always welcoming, clean, and well‑stocked with fresh, high‑quality product.
  • Help ensure the team follows all food safety, health & safety, and company policies.
  • Carry out daily checks and paperwork to keep the shop compliant and safe.

    Manage opening and closing duties, till processes, and cash handling. Support ordering, stock rotation, and waste control.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive atmosphere, stepping in to resolve issues early.
