Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced manager to oversee the day-to-day management of Cruse Scotland South Area, this includes our teams in Edinburgh, The Lothians, The Scottish Borders, Forth Valley and Stirling.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced manager to oversee the day-to-day management of Cruse Scotland South Area, this includes our teams in Edinburgh, The Lothians, The Scottish Borders, Forth Valley and Stirling.

Working arrangements

Hours: 21 hrs per week. Hours can be worked across 3, 4 or 5 days - preference for one day to be a Friday and minimum of 2 days office based.

Salary: £17,160 (£28,600 FTE) per annum plus 6% employer's contribution to pension.

Base: Hybrid:
Leith Office (min 2 days per week) & Home

Responsibilities
  • Provide volunteer managerial support, often from a distance, requiring excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Respond effectively to a wide range of enquiries including bereaved people; establish effective working relationships with Cruse Scotland volunteers and staff, as well as funders and partner organisations.
  • Travel to service bases within South Area and to other locations within Scotland for meetings and training as required.
  • Maintain a regular presence in the Leith office as part of hybrid working expectations.
Requirements and preferences
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Experience of volunteer management would be advantageous.
  • Ability to travel across multiple locations within Scotland as needed.
