Overview

CLINICAL LEAD
Learning Disabilities – General Practice

1 Year Fixed Term

1 session per week (4 hours)

Based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert

Responsibilities
  • Support delivery of the Annual Health Checks Adults with Learning Disabilities Directions.
  • Provide strategic leadership and clinical support to colleagues to take forward the commitments of the Directions to reduce health inequalities for adults with learning disabilities.
  • Act as an effective communicator and advocate for the needs of the learning disabilities patient group.
  • Support and guide others to improve clinical outcomes; collaborate with Primary Care teams including GPs, Primary Care managers, Learning Disabilities professionals and nursing teams.
  • Represent Forth Valley at national forums regarding this programme.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Enthusiastic and focused individual with the ability to communicate effectively and advocate for the needs of adults with learning disabilities.
  • Knowledge of the needs of adults with learning disabilities; any professional qualifications to support this would be an advantage.
  • Experience in collaborative working with Primary Care and LD professionals.
  • Ability to guide and support colleagues to improve clinical outcomes.
