Notifiable Events Actuarial Specialist – 12 month FTC

This role is part of an expanding team working to resolve Notifiable Events and deliver the right outcomes for all customers.
Key Responsibilities- Support all actuarial elements of customer calculations for Notifiable Events within a project team.
- Understand actuarial calculation‑based documents and respond to complex technical queries.
- Review detailed calculations and translate findings to diverse audiences (IT, project managers, actuaries).
- Work independently or as part of a cross‑site team, including UK and India.
- Deliver on multiple tasks within demanding timescales and adapt to evolving situations.
- Maintain strong interpersonal and networking skills to develop effective relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Communicate complex actuarial issues clearly to team members.
- Build tools for reconciliation of results and seek opportunities to develop technical and business understanding.
- Plan and monitor progress, ensuring deadlines and commitments are met.
- Structure task allocations around critical goals and manage people and projects effectively.
- Provide regular team updates within an agile structure.
- Prioritise own workload and deliver on multiple tasks to demanding timescales.
- Communicate effectively with others and develop positive networks and working relationships.
- A numerical‑based degree or postgraduate qualification.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex solutions to colleagues without actuarial knowledge.
- Technical understanding of tools such as Excel, SQL, Visual Basic, Python, Power BI and other actuarial applications.
- Experience with big data handling and actuarial modelling tools (SQL, Excel VBA, Python).
- Good knowledge of the insurance business and ability to understand actuarial terms and calculations.
- Fast learner with evidence of job performance and exam progress for trainees.
