Job Description
Do you have an interest in the criminal justice system or rehabilitative psycho educational groups? In this position you will receive experience working with our Batterer’s Intervention Program facilitators to work on breaking the cycle of violence by working with those that it starts with; batterers. The role will include: taking notes for the weekly group meetings, assisting facilitators with contacting future participants, assisting with set-up and break-down of the group space, gaining experience in checking records, and much more!
Qualifications- The volunteer will be required to drive to meetings, so valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.
- 40 hours of training are required to complete (online and self-paced) before beginning this position.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- An 8 hour a week commitment for at least one semester is preferred.
Volunteers must be able to attend the weekly group meetings on Wednesdays from 5pm-8pm. Volunteers are able to come in sooner on Wednesdays if desired. Commitment to at least one other day is preferred. Weekend and evening hours are not available at this time.
