Work Schedule:
Regular Duty Hours – Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. Nights and weekends as needed for events, projects and emergencies.
Appointment Length:
Regular Continuous/Until Further Notice
Hiring Range: $21.00 – $26.00 per hour

About This PositionThe HVAC I Technician is responsible for analyzing, maintaining mechanical, electrical, thermodynamic, and gas‑fired systems across domestic, commercial, and athletic facilities. This role serves as a primary resource for HVAC‑R systems, ensuring reliable operation of refrigeration, steam distribution, and condensation pumping systems. The technician performs preventative maintenance, logs activity and parts in the maintenance tracking system.
Required Qualifications- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- HVAC I – two years prior successful work experience in building trades or completion of post‑secondary education in Mechanical HVAC
- HVAC II – three years prior successful work experience in HVAC; or completion of post‑secondary education in Mechanical HVAC plus one year experience
- Lead HVAC – four years prior successful work experience in HVAC; or completion of post‑secondary education in Mechanical HVAC plus two years’ experience
- Experience in electrical controls troubleshooting using manufacturer’s schematics
- Must obtain an EPA Universal Technician Certification card within one year of hire
- Have and maintain a valid driver’s license after hire;
Certified EPA Refrigeration Usage Card within a year of hire - Skills, proficiencies, and/or knowledge: controls, motors and electrical schematic reading; refrigeration repairs; steam/condensate systems; knowledge of refrigerants and refrigerant regulations; knowledge of HVAC‑R systems
- Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs
- Vocational/Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Food Service Equipment
- Three years’ experience in the installation and repair of HVAC‑R systems
