Engineering Plan Reviewer I & II: Perform various technical and administrative engineering review tasks in support of land development projects across the city. This role involves reviewing development plans and easement documents for compliance with City standards. It includes conducting site research, maintaining project files, and using GIS software to support design and construction evaluations.
Review land development plans, plats and related documents for constructability and compliance with City ordinances and standards. Assist with pre-application meetings by providing research, site investigations, photographs and support. Provide customer service to developers, property owners and other internal staff. Research deed information for ownership, easement and property description. Conduct research necessary to make recommendations to solve design and construction related problems.
Operate GIS software to research project information, verify easements, create maps and figures. Evaluate submitted easements and associated exhibits. Review site developer’s engineering plans to determine compliance with City ordinances and standards for roads, sidewalks, driveways, storm water drainage, accessibility ramps, waterlines, sewer lines, etc. Draft written correspondence to developers to inform them of plan oversights, deficient work and/or materials, and potential corrective actions as necessary, for review by others.
Through construction site visits, possess ability to recognize deficiencies, poor workmanship and/or high performance and report the same to leads. The position also communicates with developers, contractors, and property owners to resolve issues and ensure project alignment. This position reports to the Development Services Director.
Engineering Plan Reviewer I:
- Associate’s degree in Construction management, surveying or related field.
OR
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ten (10) years progressively responsible and varied engineering or construction management experience.
- Experience or training with ESI GIS software preferred. Ability to learn required.
Starting Salary: $42,182.40- $60,153.60 annually DOQ plus a comprehensive benefits package is available including health, dental, vision, life, and retirement. A resume, cover letter and completed City of Stillwater application is required for consideration.
Engineering Plan Reviewer II:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
- Two (2) years of related engineering, construction and/or other related experience.
- Experience or training with ESRI GIS software preferred. Ability to learn required.
Starting Salary: $46,113.60- $65,728.00 annually DOQ plus a comprehensive benefits package is available including health, dental, vision, life, and retirement.
