Big Bad Game Store  will be the name, Oak Park Heights, MN will be the place and YOU could be a part of this most wonderful adventure!

Searching for a trading card champion to lead our store into a new era of used-card prosperity. We're looking for someone with broad trading card game knowledge, strong customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. In this epic role, you'll oversee all trading card trade-in operations evaluating incoming cards, negotiating fair trades, and preparing inventory for resale across multiple channels.

you'll partner with store management to ensure every quest is completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. And the adventure doesn't stop at the trade counter: you'll also support merchandising, keep the store clean and organized, and deliver a legendary experience to every guest who walks through our doors. If you love moving meeples, building decks, rolling 20s, and helping create a fun, safe space where gamers can feel at home, this could be the role for you!

Our team and our customers will require very specific and demanding qualifications, skill sets, personal temperament and performance.

Experience

• Experience: Previous experience in retail, customer service or sales is preferred. Previous experience reselling products on TCG Player or eBay is strongly preferred.
• Passion: Advanced knowledge of Magic the Gathering, Pokémon and other trading card games is required. This includes knowledge of the cards, communities, and cultures surrounding these games.
• Adaptability: The ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Flexibility: Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Customer Service and Sales

• Welcome and engage with customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable manner.
• Provide personalized recommendations and conduct product demonstrations, staying up to date on new releases, promotions, and industry news.

Trading Card Processes

• Evaluate and price customers cards using the latest price metrics.
• Present and close trade-in offers to customers and keeps a paper trail with price breakdowns
• List cards for sale on TCG Player.
• Pack and ship cards that are purchased online.
• Organize and keep a clean work environment, with cards sorted by set so they can be easily found.
• Assist and fill orders purchased by customers in the store.
• Meet trade-in deadlines and quotas to ensure sufficient store stock and customer satisfaction.
• Contact customers as needed to inform them of progress related to the trade-in.
• Handle cash as needed to pay out customers for completed trade-ins.
• Provide store management with detailed trade summaries and key insights.

Store Operations

• Process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Restock shelves, organize merchandise, and maintain a visually appealing sales floor according to company guidelines.
• Assist with inventory management, including checking in shipments and conducting regular stock counts.
• Handle store opening and closing duties as needed.

Store Maintenance

• Keep the sales floor, event space, checkout counter, and other areas of the store clean, organized, and safe for both customers and staff.
• Adhere to loss prevention procedures and report any suspicious activity.

Team Collaboration

• Work effectively with team members to achieve daily goals and create a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Train staff on upcoming products and promotions within specialty
• Effectively communicate customer feedback and any operational issues to store management.
• Other reasonable directives, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Required Skills

• Communication Skills: Strong external orientation and understanding of the customers and competitors. Knowledge about market and industry trends, competitors, and cutting-edge marketing strategies to support and engage in customer buying decisions.
• Basic Math Skills: Competency in basic mathematics, including cash handling.
• Curiosity: Curious and willing to explore and learn about new products.
• Positive attitude: Maintains a positive and upbeat outlook daily.
• Event coordination: Ability to plan, advertise and execute successful organized play events
• Training aptitude: Competent in training staff in specialty products. Provide key education allowing staff to sell products and host organized play events within an area of expertise.
