Job Description
Entry‑level sales position supporting the DIY business to achieve sales and service objectives. The role requires basic automotive system knowledge, part knowledge, store inventory and maintenance process familiarity, and the ability to source parts from internal and external suppliers. The position can be part‑time or full‑time and is fleet safety certified preferred.
Primary Responsibilities (Salesperson)- Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve its sales goals.
- Provide DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Manage inventory processes including truck put‑away, cycle counts, and back‑stock handling.
- Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot.
- General stocking including truck stocking and back stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use delivery board system.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge skills.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Job Skills for Success as a Salesperson
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus) and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2‑3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
- Pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers.
- Daily collection of credit accounts.
- Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot.
- General stocking including truck stocking and back stock.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use delivery board system.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems (back stock) and store equipment.

- Automotive parts experience is preferred.
- Certificates, licenses, registrations.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be fleet safety certified.
The employee will predominantly be walking or standing. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 100 pounds. The employee must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WorkEnvironment
The employee works mainly inside, occasionally outside, exposed to various weather conditions while installing batteries and wiper blades. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
Compensation Range14.50 USD PER HOUR – 15.41 USD PER HOUR
