We are currently looking for a medical assistant (36 hours/week) for our Family Medicine Department. Position is eligible for full-time benefits including medical and dental insurance. Applicants do not need previous experience or training/certification as a medical assistant but do need to meet the minimum requirements for the position.

Job DescriptionAs a provider assistant at Health Partners Clinic Stillwater, you are responsible for a variety of patient care duties and other related duties in the clinical setting that include documentation of medical information, administration of medications/vaccinations and treatments, as well as obtaining medical histories, vital signs, etc.
The provider assistant assists the healthcare providers in the timely delivery of services per physician/RN direction and according to Clinic policies and procedures.
All programs and activities are designed to support the short- and long-term mission, vision, goals, and objectives of Health Partners Clinic Stillwater.
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Take vital signs and document findings in the patient record
- Review annual wellness questionnaire with appropriate patients
- Administer immunizations
- Monitor messages and relay clinician responses via phone calls
- Enter orders for laboratory services
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with or without certification (AAMA or AMT)
- Current LPN (MN and WI license required)
- Graduate of an accredited EMT program plus current EMT license (national and Minnesota)
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program and current Nursing Assistant Certification in Minnesota
PLUS
current CPR certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- One year medical assistant or LPN experience in a clinic.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record software.
All candidates should have excellent verbal and written skills; excellent customer services skills; tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions with patients, families, and care team members;
An ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in all interactions;
Understanding of patient education needs, able to effectively share information with patient, family members and care team members as needed;
Ability to learn, retain information regarding patient care procedures;
Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks;
Ability to remain calm in stressful situation;
Experience with Epic preferred.
