Assistant Park Managers & Park Managers; Seasonal

Do you enjoy working outdoors, serving citizens, and are seeking seasonal employment? The Portage County Parks Department has Seasonal Assistant Park Manager and Park Manager opportunities available! Positions typically begin in May and may work until later in the fall. Some positions end earlier to accommodate school schedules.

Seasonal Assistant Park Manager - $18.03/ hour

Seasonal Park Manager - $19.47/ hour

• Performs park cleanup and custodial duties at various parks and other areas as assigned.
• Picks up litter and garbage by hand. Cleans park buildings including toilets, showers, open and enclosed shelters, nature center and storage areas.
• Mows and trims grass by hand and machine. May assist with seasonal mowing and maintenance projects at any park.
• Collects fees, enforces park rules and regulations and provides park users with information and aid.
• Collects fees for camping lodge rentals, firewood, dump stations.
• Enforces the park ordinance and other park rules and regulations and provides information and emergency first aid to park users.
• Performs maintenance and repair projects under the supervision of the park manager.

The Park Manager provides general supervision to Assistant Managers.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior park experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be 18 years old.

Seasonal employment does not provide a benefit package.
