Personal Care Worker (PCW)

Job Requirements

• Provision of personal care services including bathing, toileting, dressing, mobility and ambulation, transfers, bed changing, laundering of linens and clothing, skin care (excluding wound care), eyeglasses and hearing aid care, light cleaning of essential home areas, meal preparation and serving.
• Prompt reporting of any changes in the consumer’s condition to the R.N. Case Manager.
• Completion of all necessary time sheets and documentation to maintain program services in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.
• Maintaining confidentiality of consumer information.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with the philosophy and concepts of independent living.
• Ability to understand and carry out consumer instructions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to relate well to others.
• Good past employment references.
• Physical strength sufficient to perform essential functions of the job.
• Physical abilities: regularly sit, stand, walk; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; bend; squat; twist; talk or hear; occasionally lift and/or move individuals using transferring techniques or assistive technology/equipment.
• Reliable vehicle or alternate means of transportation to the worksite required.
• Completion of interview and training conducted by PAS staff.
• Satisfactory criminal background check results, in compliance with state and federal regulations for personal care workers.
