Child & Family Aide

Job Requirements

• Provides supervised and monitored visitation for families and assists in mentoring and coordination of schedules with other Child and Family Aides.
• Arranges and coordinates supervised and/or monitored visits for parents and children.
• Is within sound or sight for supervised visits.
• Recognizes unsafe parenting practices and intervenes when safety concerns arise.
• Models and redirects parents to safe parenting practices.
• Contacts parents and foster parents in advance regarding visitation.
• Maintains regular communication with the assigned Social Worker.
• Reports any safety concerns immediately to the Social Worker.
• Completes documentation for all visitations.
• Provides transportation as needed.
• Includes parent education/coaching as requested by the Social Worker.
• Clears visitation room after visits as needed (vacuuming, disinfecting, etc.).
• Conducts safety checks at clients' homes, including drug/alcohol monitoring.
• Collects UAs and administers breathalyzer tests as requested.
• Conducts checks at homes and observes for safety concerns as requested.
• Contacts on‑call for emergencies when safety concerns arise.
• Documents all safety checks.
• Provides Home and Financial Management (HFM) to child welfare clients.
• Meets regularly with the Ongoing Worker to determine appropriate goals.
• Establishes budget within limits of resources and obligations.
• Teaches clients the mechanics of budgeting and decision‑making about priorities.
• Assists clients to seek employment or other programs to increase income.
• Assists clients to seek housing and develops knowledge of housing options.
• Assists clients to enhance skills in cleaning, parenting, and basic home management.
• Assists clients to bring their home to a safe and clean condition.
• Documents HFM meetings.
• Assists in holding family meetings.
• Attends family team meetings and internal staffing meetings.

• One year experience with child welfare programs or work with children and families strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Mental Health and Parenting Skills strongly preferred.
• Experience dealing with challenging clients and/or children under emotional duress strongly preferred.
