ADA Software Engineer

The Role

We are building the next generation of secure real-time communication systems used within highly advanced airborne and mobile platforms.

As an Embedded ADA Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing secure datalink software that enables reliable over-the-air communication between complex systems operating in demanding environments.

This is a hands-on engineering role with genuine influence over architecture, protocols, and technical direction. You’ll contribute across the full software lifecycle — from concept through to integration and verification.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Capturing and analysing software requirements

* Designing real-time embedded software architectures

* Implementing high-integrity software in ADA

* Supporting integration, reviews, and system-level testing

* Working closely with firmware, hardware, systems and test engineers

* Contributing to protocol definition and datalink design decisions

You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering cutting-edge communications capability within complex embedded environments.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

* Strong experience developing embedded software in ADA

* Hard real-time embedded systems development

* Experience working in lab environments with test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes)

* Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (e.g. FreeRTOS)

* Strong system-level debugging and problem-solving skills

Desirable Experience

* Communication protocols (SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCIe)

* Model-based design (UML, IBM Rhapsody or similar tools)

* System integration and performance analysis

* Software-hardware interaction debugging

Working Pattern

This role follows a hybrid model with 4 days per week onsite due to the classified nature of the work.
