We’re looking for a practically minded Trainee SMT Operator to join our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving practical problems, and learning how electronic assemblies are built.
Whether you’ve been a service engineer, electrical/mechanical technician, machine operator, assembly operative, or simply someone who enjoys hands‑on work — this role could be a perfect match.
What you’ll be doingYou’ll help keep our SMT production lines running smoothly. We’ll teach you how to:
- Operate SMT paste printers and follow SMT working practices
- Load components and run surface‑mount placement machines
- Operate reflow ovens and follow safe handling processes
- Carry out visual inspection to IPC‑610 quality standards
- Hand‑fit electronic components when required
If you’re used to hands‑on work or solving mechanical/technical tasks, you’ll pick this up easily.
What you’ll bring Essential- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Practical mindset — you enjoy working physically and technically
- Good organisation and the ability to multitask effectively
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and pride in doing a job well
You do not need experience in electronics — we’ll train you.
But you’ll be a great fit if you’ve worked as a:
- Service engineer (field or workshop)
- Mechanical/electrical technician
- Machine operator or production operator
- Assembly/repair technician
- Hands‑on engineering xlqdzyr or maintenance role
- Or any practical job involving tools, machinery, diagnostics, or physical work
- Good time management and proactive attitude
- Direct support from the SMT Supervisor
- Day‑to‑day collaboration with manufacturing teams in Production
- Full, structured training in SMT processes and equipment
- A role suited to people who like doing, not just sitting at a desk
