Associate Specialist – Female PICU at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage
. Full‑time, consultant‑level progression via the CESR programme.

• Provide high‑quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist.
• Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations of service users.
• Participate in weekly ward rounds and attend multidisciplinary meetings.
• Attend Care Programme Approach, Section 117 meetings and mental health review tribunals.
• Ensure medical decisions are implemented as planned.
• Audit medical services and ensure compliance with GMC and other professional guidelines.
• Uphold policies and contribute to service governance and development.
• Participate in the on‑call rota in line with regional needs.

• Fully GMC‑registered, MBBS (or equivalent) qualified.
• Experienced in General Psychiatry and mental health diagnosis.
• Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledgeable of mental health legislation and codes of practice.
• Excellent clinical decision maker with sound judgement and risk‑management ability.
• First‑rate communicator who writes clear, comprehensive medical notes.
• Committed to continued professional development.
• Preferably approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (or equivalent).

• Salary up to £90,000 per year.
