Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN / RNLD)

We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) / Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) to join our dynamic and forward‑thinking team at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage. You will be expected to work full‑time, 38.5 hours a week, with days and nights on a rota basis.

Cygnet Hospital Stevenage offers a range of secure and PICU and acute mental health services for men and women in a purpose‑built therapeutic environment where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery. A range of therapies supports the care pathway towards independent living.

Cygnet was established in 1988. Since then we have developed a wide range of health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism and learning disabilities within the UK.

• Develop therapeutic relationships alongside service users and carers to motivate and influence service users’ drive for recovery
• Collaborate with others to ensure the delivery of safe and clinically effective care
• Apply skilled and meaningful interventions based on assessed needs
• Maintain contemporaneous records and care plans for service users
• Produce outstanding written reports based on your nursing assessments and observations
• Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, and improve quality
• Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge & promote nursing
• Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete & maintained collectively with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals.
• Administer prescribed medicines with Healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.

• Open, compassionate, honest & resilient
• Experienced RMN/RNLD with a current Pin Number
• Capable to maintain documentation and undertake audits
• Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & have an understanding of latest nursing practices
• Able to deputise in a clinical lead role
• Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk
• Helping to empower & support service user independence.
